Mordenite from the Deccan Traps basalt quarries of Maharashtra, India — dense white fibrous sprays and radiating tufts covering matrix on all three pieces, running roughly 4.5 to 8 inches. The texture is the draw: fine hair-like crystals packed into rounded bursts and tapering blades, with a soft matte to silky sheen rather than a glassy one. Color is uniform chalk white with faint cream tones where the sprays thin out. Two pieces carry small blades of a secondary zeolite along one edge, and one shows a narrow band of green celadonite where the matrix is exposed. Natural and untreated — no dyeing, coating, or stabilizing, as with everything we carry. Every lot is filmed before it ships — what you see in the video is the material that arrives.
