The horizontal striations that give Lemurian quartz its name run clearly across the prism faces on every piece — fine parallel ridging you can feel with a thumbnail. Clarity runs from water-clear terminations through soft milky and satiny white bodies, with frosted and etched texture on some faces and glassy polish on others.
Several pieces carry warm peach to salmon coloring across the faces and down into the crystals, from iron oxide picked up during growth. One piece is more strongly colored than the rest. Two pieces are plates carrying many slender points across a pale cream matrix; the others are freestanding clusters of stouter, larger terminations.
