1.307 kg, 8 pieces. $140/kg. Golden healer quartz polished points from the Diamantina operation in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Color runs from pale honey through saturated amber, deepest through the body of each point and thinning toward the terminations, where several go nearly clear at the tip. The gold is iron oxide included within the quartz — not a surface coating — and it reads as broad soft washes in some pieces and as fine bright veining tracing internal fractures in others. Through the polished faces the interiors show layered internal structure, ghost planes, and healed fracture surfaces that catch the light as flat bright flashes as the piece is turned.

Points are cut and polished on all faces and stand freely on a flat base.
