Blue-green moss agate from Java, Indonesia, polished on both faces with the natural rind left intact around the edges.
The base is a soft blue-grey chalcedony, translucent to nearly transparent in the thinner sections, holding dense green mineral inclusions that spread through the stone in the branching, mossy patterns the material is named for. Several pieces carry white spherulitic sprays and fine radiating fans set against the grey ground, and a few have small open vugs lined with druzy crystal. The olive and tan volcanic host rock frames the polished faces.
Pieces range from 2 to 3.75 inches.
