1.223 kg, 10 pieces. $130/kg. Anandalite from Himachal Pradesh, India — druzy quartz plates and freeform pieces covered in small, tightly packed terminations, ranging from about 1.5 to 5.5 inches. The surfaces carry soft iridescent flashes in pale green, blue, and rose that shift with the angle of the light; the effect is attributed in the trade to trace rhodium. The iridescence is strongest on a couple of pieces and reads more subtly across the rest. Body color is milky white to pale cream, with warm honey and tan tones where iron staining runs through the matrix on several pieces. The largest piece is a display plate, and the lot also includes cabinet and smaller specimens. Natural and untreated — no dyeing, coating, or stabilizing, as with everything we carry.
